Carine Rotifeld sneaks back into the front row
After parting with her long-time employer, Paris Vogue former editor Carine Roitfeld was blacklisted from the runway shows at fashion week last February. Reportedly, the venerable fashion bible asked designers not to extend invitations to the industry titan because it might send the wrong message about Emmanuelle Alt as Roitfeld's replacement. Carine merely rolled her eyes and made her way into every designer showroom for an exclusive private viewing, but this July at the Paris couture shows, the industry behemoth is making a tongue-in-cheek return to the front row. As part of a high-concept feature for W magazine, Roitfeld will be impersonating a client at fashion week, "from front row to fittings." According to some rumors, Paolo Roversi will be Carine's personal paparazzo. [WWD]

Kate Moss is officially a married woman. The bride wore a Galliano vintage-inspired, slim-fitting, floor-length dress featuring a smattering of sequins and delicate sheer panelling. Her hair was set in loose waves by Sam McKnight, and her minimal make-up completed by Charlotte Tilbury. Shoes came in the form of bespoke Manolo Blahniks. Hince chose a double-breasted Yves Saint Laurent suit. The newlyweds posed outside the church with their bridesmaids, who each wore pretty white dresses, ballerina pumps and a floral head garland.

"She was that ethereal waif; delicate and mischievous, on a perfect midsummer eve," said Vogue fashion features director Harriet Quick. "It was so very her and it could not be more opposite to the royal wedding. It was a superb dress and pure Galliano - bias-cut, nostalgic and wonderful - a tribute to him. Moss returns to that waif we all fell in love with."
The rumours were true - John Galliano was the surprise guest at the wedding last night, wearing Comme des Garcons and a black hat.

After an unceremonious dismissal from the house of Valentino, even with critical acclaim in hand, Alessandra Facchinetti's name was largely absent from the fashion press. She was back in the news briefly when rumors started about her going to work for Tom Ford on his womenswear launch, which was then more myth than reality (and oh God, did that ever become a reality). Now, she's signed a deal with Pietro Negra, founder of the Italian label Pinko, to do a line called Uniqueness. Her Uniqueness will debut at Paris Fashion Week in October, and hopefully display lowercase uniqueness.
